THE SHORT ANSWER

What should a private jet charter quote include?

A useful quote identifies the proposed aircraft, operating company, itinerary, complete price, inclusions and booking terms. Anything still subject to confirmation should be easy to recognise.

A quote arrives. The aircraft looks lovely, the price is prominent and there is a request to pay. It is tempting to think the important decisions have already been made.

Pause long enough to ask what has actually been agreed. Good presentation is welcome, but it should make the details easier to understand. You should be able to explain the offer to another passenger without filling the gaps yourself.

First, make sure it describes your trip

Look for every departure and destination, the travel dates, passenger numbers and the timing basis. Ask whether times are local and what happens if your meeting runs late. A return leg mentioned in a conversation should also appear in the written itinerary if it is part of the price.

Check that the aircraft details relate to the offer, rather than to a general brochure. Ask for the operator name, the proposed aircraft information and the seating and baggage arrangements. If an aircraft is still being sourced, the document should say so.

Separate included, optional and unresolved items

Airport transfers, catering, connectivity and special assistance can mean different things in different offers. Ask for each requested service to be marked as included, separately priced or awaiting confirmation. A photograph of a dining table does not establish what meal is included.

For a wait-and-return trip, clarify the agreed waiting period and what changes if you stay longer. For a multi-country itinerary, ask which proposed handling or permission arrangements are included. An unresolved item is manageable when it is visible early.

Check the cost lines, not only the total

Ask whether the proposed price covers passenger flight legs, positioning, fuel, airport landing and handling, parking, applicable taxes and any brokerage or service fee. Not every quote presents these as separate lines. The goal is to know whether they are included, excluded or provisional, rather than to assume the same charging structure everywhere.

Where your itinerary requires waiting, an overnight stay or additional permissions, ask how the relevant arrangements and costs are treated. For catering, transfers and other requested services, confirm the actual service being supplied. Keep optional extras separate so they do not quietly become part of the budget.

Read the conditions while you still have a choice

Confirm the total, payment currency, validity period and payment schedule. Read the change, cancellation and refund conditions before paying. Ask who you contact if the aircraft becomes unavailable, and what the agreement says about replacements.

If a term is unclear, ask for an explanation in writing. You do not need to be difficult or apologetic. A clear quote protects a calm journey by reducing disagreements later. Keep the quote, relevant correspondence and confirmation together so the travelling group is working from the same information.

If the document is an estimate, ask for its assumptions

An estimate should state its source and issue date, the aircraft or category assumed, route, dates, passenger and baggage requirements, billable-hour basis, positioning and airport-charge assumptions. It should identify currency, taxes and exclusions and explain what still needs confirmation.

Before treating it as a booking offer, ask when it expires and which steps confirm the aircraft and full terms. A guide, an old quote or a general hourly rate is not evidence that an aircraft is available for your journey.

Frequently asked questions

Does a quote mean the aircraft is reserved?

Not necessarily. Ask what is being held, for how long, and which steps create a confirmed booking under the supplied terms.

Should I ask about extra charges?

Yes. Ask which changes or circumstances could alter the price, and how those costs would be agreed.

Does an all-inclusive charter quote include ground transfers?

Only if the written quote says so. Ask for transfers, catering and other requested services to be marked as included, separately priced or awaiting confirmation.

MAKE THE NEXT STEP A LITTLE EASIER

Tell us what matters to your journey.

Start with your route, dates and travelling group. Compare cabin categories, then explicitly send your brief to RentJet or download a PDF. An enquiry receipt does not reserve aircraft or confirm a flight.

Prepare your enquiry

Practical planning guidance, not a live aircraft offer or an interpretation of your booking agreement. Confirm the actual operator, arrangements and terms for your journey. Where entry or operating requirements apply, use current official information.
