THE SHORT ANSWER

What are the steps to book a helicopter charter?

Prepare your locations, date, local times, passengers and luggage; request suitable operator options; review the aircraft, total price and terms; then complete the agreed booking process. Only the relevant written confirmation establishes a booking. An enquiry receipt or an aircraft photograph does not.

You do not need to know a helicopter model before asking for help. You do need to explain the journey well enough for an operator to assess it. Think of the first message as a useful brief, rather than an attempt to solve every aviation detail yourself.

Step one: make the brief specific

Write down exact locations, dates, local departure preferences and any arrival deadline. Say whether you need a one-way flight, a waiting aircraft or a later return. Include the purpose if it affects site access or the type of operation.

Add passenger numbers, bag sizes and boarding-assistance needs. Keep passport numbers, payment details and medical documents out of the initial enquiry. If the operator needs further information, agree a suitable channel.

Step two: review an actual proposal

Check the legal name of the operating company and the aircraft being offered. Ask the broker to explain how the operator’s authorisation and suitability for your mission are checked. A brand name or polished cabin image is not enough information.

Read the entire itinerary and the inclusions. Check departure and landing points, ground transfers, positioning, waiting and the process if weather or your plans change.

Step three: confirm on agreed written terms

Before paying, check the agreement, payment instructions, cancellation terms and the identity of the payee through a trusted contact. Understand whether RentJet is coordinating the booking or contracting a particular element.

Ask what written confirmation you will receive and what remains conditional. Do not interpret the website receipt, a quotation or a request for documents as confirmation that the flight is booked.

Step four: follow the departure instructions

Use the confirmed reporting point and time from your operator or concierge. A generic airport name may not identify the facility you need. Confirm passenger-document requirements directly and keep the agreed contact available.

Report changes to passengers, baggage or timing before travel. The operator makes operational decisions; an agreed schedule can still be affected by weather or other constraints.

Your practical checklist

  • Exact locations, date and local times
  • Passengers and luggage details
  • Named operator and specific proposal
  • Full contract, verified payment instructions and confirmation
  • Reporting point and change contact

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to enquire?

No. RentJet accepts guest enquiries. A successful submission gives a receipt and a private tracking link.

Does a proposal reserve the helicopter?

Do not assume that it does. Ask about availability, validity and any reservation conditions in the proposal.

What if I have never flown in a helicopter?

Say so. Ask about boarding, seating, luggage, noise and the operator’s briefing so you know what to expect.

This is an enquiry, not a confirmed flight. RentJet is a broker. The independent operator must confirm the aircraft, landing arrangements, availability, full price and terms.
